RASTER (the book) documents RASTER (the digital artwork) by Galo Canizares. The project was released as a series of 400 unique iterations in 2022 as part of Art Block’s Curated Collection, an online platform for generative art. Each edition was minted on the Ethereum blockchain, which provides unique provenance for born-digital, web-based artworks. The book collects all of the generated iterations and organizes them thematically in a rich variety of full color plates. Together with critical reflections, descriptions, and source code, RASTER (the book) provides a comprehensive documentation of this unique project. Includes a guest essay by computational designer Mark Ericson, author of Animating Guarini. Graphic design by Anthony Zukofsky. Published by Critical Software Press.
